Tales Of My Rides

Bicycle can be a thoroughly ridiculous form of transport, but a thoroughly beautiful one. Handle, Paddle, Paddling, Deep Breathing, Air, More Air, Woshhh.... [Music] Five months ago I started paddling my bicycle in the evening through the farms, the habit I have maintained till today. I usually paddle from a point A which generally is the southernmost edge of the village to a point B which lies right on the bridge of the main canal known by the name  Ramala wali Nahar via a road which goes along the smaller canal,  khaansh. I generally stop at point C. Point C is a place somewhere between point A and point B, I stop there to observe Bainya’s nests hanging upright down on a tree. While riding, I generally think about a point D. Point D is nothing in particular, but an imaginary place, somewhere between infinity to minus infinity in the universe (I do not care if it happens to be out of universe) which I generally visualized - setting sun, solitary atmosphere, tall laconic palm ...

Book Recommendations By A Bibliophile

Image
Two years ago I had started this blog solely for book recommendations, but then, I deviated, and deviated large enough that now it is used for everything. I mean, I post anything here - just like a trash can. Okay, years has passed, now I am back to my sole purpose - book recommendations. Because a large time had passed, so at first I was confused. B ut soon my old self came back and here is this book recommendation blog. Today, I am leaving you with 10, NO, actually 11 books, and some further titles to choose from. These books are solely my subjective choice, so if you are going to babble about the missed titles then I can’t help. If you will ask me - “What is your favourite book?” I will say -“A Fine Balance”. If you have had asked me the same question a month ago. I would answer - “The White Tiger”. Two months before, that could be - “The Little Prince”. Don’t getting any sense from my nonsense, worry not. Actually, these are the last books I had read in these times, like now, I had...

THAT KABADDI MATCH

Previously  - The team having 2 captains, a freaky man, two advisors, and a wrestler-cum-racer had been lagging by 0-10 against the team having a prisoner, a ghost from the Hollywood movie, two rather adult men, and Parnav’s target - Abhishek who happened to be their captain as well.   Part2- This was the turn for the opponent team’s to raid. The ghost guy came up with the raid and went away with two points. One advisor and Shivam went for the tackle from the left, but, in spite of a good effort, they had been deceived by the ghost guy’s slow, but perfect dubkii. Akshay patted his advisor’s back for trying, Himanshu - the captain no.2 - patted Shivam Bhaijaan’s back. It was our turn again to raid next. With Parnav out of the court and our captain no.1’s shocking 1 st  raid, the question was - who would raid from our side. Captain No.2 and Captain No.1 discussed a little and ordered, no just said, okay requested to the only advisor standing in the court that it’s the right...

That Kabaddi Match

Note-  The following blog is the work of wild figments of author and not an accurate portrayal of a real event. Part 1 “You should be ready in 15 minutes,” Our PTI said, “Otherwise I am going to have them leave.” “No, Sir we should manage,” Akshay replied. “Of course ,  we will be  ready in 15 minutes ! ” Himanshu said as seriously as he could. “Although I can ’ t gu a rantee him.” “Hey, old man should worry for themselves first.” Akshay fired back. “15 minutes that’s it”, PTI warned once again. Akshay and Himanshu - the two concerned students of our class, I too was one among them.     These were the last days of us in the school, intermediate exams were some 4 months away and the atmosphere was super serious around us. So, opportunities like these where we were allowed to play with some other team were rare, although we never missed a chance of playing in the PE period or in a vacant period - all thanks to Himanshu’s wit. This time we had a match with a...
